Back in the saddle. Again.

I’ll get right to it: I am looking for full-time work.

Being a consultant offers the opportunity to build a working relationship and service strategy with each new client. It is thrilling! And exhausting. Going deep for a larger client project can ingest a lot of time that I might otherwise spend writing and publishing. Two bigger projects from the start of 2022 until recently, plus another move across the country to Denver, gobbled up the most time for professional endeavors. While there have been great professional experience gained in recent years, the constant hustle to scrabble together even part time work is a lot.

One project offered me the opportunity to be part of the product and services design group for the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. Over the course of half-a-year I was able to work with a team dedicated to building social media content for the church’s international community.

The second opportunity came in supporting the insole maker Blumaka with its public relations. I spent two years building relationships with editors across trade, lifestyle and sports media, and helped with a brand refresh in 2024 and the launch of Blumaka’s sister brand Flex Footwear.

On top of client work, I also stepped into the role of Managing Director for the Keough Family Foundation, helping to manage the investment and giving strategy for the foundation. I’ve spent the last two years getting to know our amazing recipients better and am working on more strategic giving partnerships. It has been an honor learning more about the amazing organization we support.

AND, lest anyone was worried that I abandoned my role as a serial volunteer, don’t fret! I had the honor of supporting the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society as a Chair of Volunteers from 2022-2023, launched a new Girl Scout troop in the Denver area shortly after arriving in 2023, and have adopted a Co-Chair position for the annual jog-a-thon at my daughter’s elementary school. Free time is for sissies.

I am experimenting with the Substack platform and continuing to explore ways to expand my work on Medium, especially as the platform has recently reporting hitting 1 million members.

My most recent client projects have subsided and I am working to re-enter the mostly-full to full-time workplace now that our active duty Navy life has ended. I’m eager to bring my professional and life experience to a new opportunity. Stay tuned!
